Meet Rick, aka “Dr. B”, a lifelong guitarist, luthier, head nurse, and the heart behind every custom neck that leaves the bench.
What started as a way to fine-tune his own instruments turned into a mission to help other players find the same comfort, precision, and inspiration in their guitars — all with the touch of a craftsman who understands anatomy as deeply as music.
After decades in nursing — from emergency floors to leadership as a head nurse — Rick learned that the smallest details can make the biggest difference in performance and longevity. The same applies to guitars.
With years of experience as a guitar tech and performing musician, Dr. B brings medical precision to the art of luthiery, hand-carving each neck for natural ergonomics and fatigue-free playability.
“In medicine, it’s about how the body moves. In music, it’s about how the body feels while playing. My goal is to merge those two worlds — one neck at a time.”
— Rick “Dr. B”
Every neck is hand-shaped and finished in Dr. B’s small workshop using traditional techniques, high-grade tonewoods, and an anatomically informed approach.
The result? Instruments that not only look beautiful but feel right — minimizing strain, improving fluidity, and enhancing the connection between musician and instrument.
Each build is:
Anatomically informed — shaped to fit your natural grip and posture
Individually tested — for resonance, alignment, and comfort
Hand-finished — with care, experience, and medical-grade attention to detail
Dr. B’s workshop isn’t just about wood and strings — it’s about wellness through craftsmanship.
Musicians spend hours perfecting their sound; your instrument should work with your body, not against it. Whether you’re a touring guitarist, studio musician, or weekend player, every neck is a promise of precision, comfort, and care.
When he’s not carving or sanding, you’ll still find Dr. B playing in local bands, volunteering at clinics, or chatting gear with fellow guitarists. The same dedication that once saved lives now shapes tone — proving that healing and harmony can come from the same pair of hands.
